SUMMARY:Talk Story: Chautauqua Performance of Loy Lee Ford
DESCRIPTION:The kick-off event for the 2018 Talk Story Series is a Chautauqua-style presentation by Prof. Sue Fawn Chung on the life of Loy Lee Ford. We will also move to a new venue and time.  From the Church where we have had our events\, go down the street opposite the 6th and I Synagogue to the I Street entrance of the I Street Conferencing Center within 600 Massachusetts Ave. NW.  We will open at 3:00 pm for a 3:30presentation.  This will be a great opportunity to meet one of the premier scholars on Chinese American mining and rural Chinatown histories in Nevada and California.\n\nChautauqua was a popular style of public presentations that combined entertainment and education\, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries\, often performed under a tent. This will be a fun and informative event.  Hope to see you there!\nTed Gong\, Executive Director
