SUMMARY:"Through Chinatown's Eyes: April 1968" at the GWU Museum
DESCRIPTION:The 1882 Foundation team\, featuring Executive Director\, Ted Gong\, will be presenting at the George Washington University Museum with a screening of the documentary film Through Chinatown’s Eyes: April 1968. \nFollowing the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King\, Jr.\, and the ensuing civil disorder\, Chinatown in Washington\, D.C.\, found itself caught amidst a deep-seeded racial struggle. Through Chinatown’s Eyes: April 1968 explores how residents experienced and navigated the historical moment as it unfolded on their doorsteps. \nThis program is part of the D.C. Mondays at the Museum series inspired by the Albert H. Small Washingtoniana Collection. Free; no reservations required.
