Early Chinese Traditional Religion on the East Coast – What happened to it, and why?

Chuimei Ho will be visiting DC to discuss early Chinese traditional religion on the East Coast and how it has impacted the physical space of Chinatowns and other spaces with large Chinese populations. Chuimei specializes in Buddhist art, archaeology, and Chinese American history. She will be presenting with Bennet Bronson, who specializes in anthropology and East and Southeast Asian cultures. Together they have published Chinese Traditional Religion and Temples in North America, Chinese Opium in America, among other works.
