MORE THAN EVER, WE MUST MAKE A LITTLE TROUBLE
This year will be exciting. With our office reconstruction completed except for backyard landscaping and installing a lift for handicap access, the new office enables us to engage more effectively with the Mayor’s Office and downtown stakeholders on issues of neighborhood cleanliness, crime, and revitalization. This has raised the visibility of the “Chinatown off H” and
“If Buildings Could Talk” projects as well as the Chinatown Park Plaza and the half street closure in front of our office. The renovated office itself illustrates what a reimagined Chinatown can become.
Even more exciting, we will be opening an office in Sacramento and celebrating the designation of the Sierra Summit Camp, a National Historic Landmark. The attachment describes accomplishments and plans. You and friends have made it possible.
My call to you is to continue making a little trouble. More than ever, private donations and moral support for humanities and historical preservation are needed. We must demonstrate to demand that our stories be preserved and told honestly, boldly and completely.
