DESCRIPTION:November 2-5\, 2017 \n#DCHISTCON \nHosted by the Historical Society of Washington\, D.C. \nJoin the 1882 Foundation at a screening of our film\, “Through Chinatown Eyes: April 1968\,” at the upcoming Annual Conference on D.C. History. Our film looks into the central theme of Echo & Resonance: 1968 explored by this year’s conference. The conference spans November 2-5 featuring displays\, panels and discussions\, but our film and others will be screened on Friday\, November 3\, at 6:15pm. 1882 Foundation Executive Director\, Ted Gong\, and resident film expert\, Jenny Cho\, will  be in attendance representing our film. \nEcho & Resonance: 1968 \nThe 2017 conference examines the 50th anniversary of the civil unrest of 1968. The conference sessions will explore 1968 and the civil unrest as a pivotal moment in the history of the District\, the history of activism in the area\, and the dynamics race\, politics\, governance\, and history played in the events. How does 1968 resonate today? \nAbout the Conference\nThe 44th Annual Conference on D.C. History is a collaboration between The George Washington University\, the Historical Society of Washington\, D.C.\, and the DC Public Library. Its mission is to provide a friendly and rigorous forum for discussing and promoting original research about the history of the Washington\, D.C. metropolitan area.
