Join us for a community movie night and conversation with film-maker Crystal Kwok as we screen Blurring the Color Line, an award-winning documentary that goes beyond the Black-and-white narrative of American racial history.

Blurring the Color Line follows director Crystal Kwok on a personal journey of discovery, uncovering how her grandmother’s family navigated life as Chinese grocery store owners in the Black community of Augusta, Georgia during the Jim Crow era. Centering women’s experiences, Kwok poses critical questions around the intersections of race, power, and identity in the American South — exploring how marginalized communities were pitted against each other under segregation.
