Video Transcript: Ceremony at NMAH
Description: This video shows the opening dedications of the “Forgotten Workers” Transcontinental Railroad exhibit at the National Museum of American History in Washington, DC. As part of the ceremony, Chinese American descendants were given the opportunity to tell stories of their ancestors, pertaining to their immigration and experiences involving railroad construction in the American West. For the descendants, this is an opportunity to share how their families transitioned from being railroad workers to successful American entrepreneurs, and an opportunity to comment that the United States was built with the help of these Chinese immigrant families.
