Ting-yi was nominated by Ted Gong, our executive director, to honor his work done through 1882 as Curriculum & Education Director with education programming and workshops throughout Virginia public schools to help spread Asian American awareness and bring underrepresented Chinese American histories to light. Ting-yi’s 20 years of teaching middle and high school social studies in Virginia public schools and his dedication to serving the Asian American cause beyond that make him more than well-deserving of this honor. Congratulations, Ting-yi! See more about this honor here.
