This afternoon, the House passed the resolution addressing and expressing regret for the Chinese Exclusion Laws (H. Res. 683) by voice vote! Many thanks to all of you who supported our efforts and reached out to your Representatives. We also could not have done this without the tireless leadership of Representative Judy Chu, who has championed this cause from the very beginning, and Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith, who sheparded this legislation. Senate Resolution 201, sponsored by Senator Scott Brown, passed on October 6, 2011. A LA Times article on this historic milestone is attached here. Watch the floor proceedings accompanying the passage of H. Res. 683 here.
